This is a request for :icona-and-s-studios:, who wanted 21-year old R.J. and Wesley holding their baby, Jack :D

For the most part I think R.J. would hold Jack the most.
Not that he doesn't trust Wesley to or anything, but he likes holding Jack more himself because he considers it the safest place for Jack to be other than in Wesley's arms.

Plus when he holds Jack he can check his heart beat and everything whenever he wants (which for some reason I think he does with both Wesley and Raina too) as an extra measure to keep Jack safe.

Oh, and I know it's a bit weird to have R.J. and Wesley holding Jack while they're so beat up, but I imagine that after a hard night out on patrol that holding Jack would be, like, the only thing that keeps them collapsing on the way home :D
Plus, I sort've wanted to illustrate how hurt they can get.

It's not all guts and glory being a hero in my story :D

I love that they get hurt. That sounds awful, but it's more realistic this way. Characters in media rarely are injured for long, or if they are, it's almost never on their face.

My only question is: How do the people they see in public not suspect anything? Wesley might heal quickly because he's a speedster or something, but what does R.J. do? Cover up with makeup? :?

All heroes (be it natural or artificial) have a degree of regeneration power :D
Most minor wounds and some serious wounds heal in hours to a couple of days, even if its a broken bone or something. Speedsters obviously are much quicker with this, but all heroes bodies are designed to heal quickly to ensure survival and the ability to keep protecting normal people :D
If it doesn't heal quick enough either a special formula is used to catalyze healing speed and make it go faster or makeup is applied :D
